Hurricane Update - Tuesday 6:52 p.m.
IMPORTANT Update - Tuesday 6:52 p.m. Mayor Curry announced at 4:17 via Twitter that he is considering evacuations in Zone A. Because of the possibility of evacuations, all Duval County Public Schools will now be fully closed on Wednesday, Sept. 28. All school operations and activities are canceled. This is in addition to closures already announced for Thursday and Friday. Hurricane Important Update
Update - Tuesday (Noon) Duval County Public Schools closures and cancellations in response to Hurricane Ian are as follows: Wednesday – September 28, 2022 Early dismissal: Students will be dismissed 2.5 hours earlier than they would on a normal school day. (Wednesday is already a scheduled early release day; We are shortening the early release day by 45 minutes, and thus, school will end 2.5 hours earlier than a normal day.) Extended day and after school childcare programs will operate on regular hours. Athletic activities and extracurricular activities are cancelled until Oct. 3. District offices will close at 5 p.m. Thursday – September 29, 2022 Schools and District offices closed. All activities cancelled. The Oct. 14 weather day will be a regular school day for students and staff. Friday – September 30, 2022 Schools and District offices closed. All activities cancelled. It will not be necessary to make up this day based on the time already planned in the school calendar. |
